"Rather than just time sharing jobs on one or a few cores, we expect abundant cores will encourage a greater use of space sharing. With space sharing, single- or multi-threaded jobs are simultaneously assigned to separate groups of cores for long time intervals. Currently proposed CMP memory systems do not appear to target consolidated workloads with space sharing of resources."
